PADI Instructor Development Courses FAQ
Do I need my own dive equipment?
You will need a full set of scuba equipment and appropriate exposure protection. We do provide gear if you dont have, but as PADI Pro you should have your own dive gear.
How long does it take to Go Pro?
It depends on your level of experience. You need 60 dives to become a Divemaster. To attend the IDC you need to have at least 100 logged dives and be a Certified Diver for 6 Months.
Do I have to be very fit?
You are not required to be an athlete. A normal level of fitness is required and you must have a doctor’s permission to scuba dive.
Can I fail the IDC?
No one ever really fails a dive course, and the IDC is no different. The IDC is a development course. We evaluate you, but we also coach and teach you so that you will pass the IE easily.
What is the most common reason a candidate may fail the IE?
Dive theory exams. For that reason, you will need to refresh your knowledge before the IDC begins. Prior to your course you will receive detailed study instructions and dive theory exams per email.
What happens if I do fail an IE?
We have made a commitment to your instructor development. Remedial work or a second IDC is free of charge. However, your commitment has to be matched by ours.
We can help you learn, but we can’t do it for you.
Do you provide accommodations?
We do work together with a small Hotel in Cozumel and Playa del Carmen, depending your wants and needs. The prices will be around 250 USD Per Two Weeks. Once you made your resevation for your Courses, we will make the reservation at the Hotel. We also have Dorm Rooms available for 10 USD per night. Free Accomodations with Platinum Pro Package!
What if there is a dive accident?
Scuba diving has become one of the safest recreational activities. In the unlikely event of an accident we are members of both Hyperbaric Chambers (Riviera Maya & Cozumel)
Can I get a job in Mexico?
Sure you can. In fact a large proportion of our instructor graduates continue with our Partner Resorts, Scubacaribe, Viva Diving or Scuba Cancún, even in our own operation. Others find work in the many dive operations in the region. Our job placement program assists you in finding the perfect job. Your employer will help you get a work permit, it takes a couple of weeks, but you need to wait two weeks for your teaching status anyway.
I’m ready. How do I make reservation?
Contact us per email or per telephone. To reserve your spot you need to make a 25% deposit, which can be done by Credit Card, and the balance of your tuition can be paid upon arrival.
